Copper-Aluminum Composite Busbar Trunking
Classification:
Copper and aluminum are both good conductive materials, and their conductivity is better than other common metal materials. The copper-aluminum composite ground nut is designed so that it can be in close contact with the ground wire, thereby reducing the contact resistance and improving the conductive efficiency. In addition, the copper-aluminum composite material also has good corrosion resistance, which can effectively resist corrosion and oxidation, and ensure the long-term stable operation of the grounding system. The copper-aluminum composite ground nut is a component used in the grounding system. It is usually composed of two metal materials, copper and aluminum. This kind of nut has excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, so it is widely used in grounding system.

Chima Power’s copper-aluminum eutectic busbar, with its outstanding current-carrying performance and cost-effectiveness, has effectively addressed the lightweighting and cost-reduction needs of busway customers in practical applications.
Moreover, the lightweight design enhances ease of installation and transportation while reducing costs.
Characteristics of Copper-Aluminum Eutectic Material in Busbar Trunking Systems
• Copper-aluminum eutectic material has a lower density than copper, with a specific gravity of 3.94, meeting the lightweight requirements of compact busbar trunking systems.
• Copper-aluminum eutectic materials exhibit higher electrical conductivity than pure aluminum, resulting in superior current-carrying performance, lower voltage drop, and reduced electrical losses.
• The copper-aluminum eutectic material enables custom-shaped bends and tees or crosses to be integrally cut and formed according to customer requirements, thereby reducing the potential risk of poor welds at the bends of copper busbars.
• Thanks to the cast-rolling process, copper-aluminum eutectic materials offer a significantly wider panel width—exceeding 800 mm—thereby overcoming the previous 250-mm width limitation of extruded copper busbars. This allows conductors with the same cross-sectional area to be made thinner and wider, enhancing current-carrying capacity and making it feasible to configure a 3,150-A busbar trunking system as a single-row arrangement, thus effectively saving space and reducing costs.
• Due to its low density, copper-aluminum eutectic material achieves a conductor volume approximately 226% of that of a copper conductor for the same weight, resulting in significant cost reductions!

This eliminates the inconvenience of having to weld copper busbars when fabricating right-angle bends, rounded bends, and connection ends. By enabling full-panel cutting according to customer drawings, we not only enhance the reliability of the connections but also reduce labor costs.
